THE TCP/TCCN STORY

The Cougar Pages webzine (TCP) arrived on the Internet in 1997. Created by Steve Eitzen and published on a monthly basis, TCP soon outgrew the confines of a webzine and became the nucleus of The Classic Cougar Network web site. During the next five years, TCCN grew into the most comprehensive resource for classic Cougar history, technical information and feature articles available--on or off the Net.

As TCCN grew, so also grew the number of people who volunteered their time to develop the site's content. Ultimately, the TCCN staff included thirteen knowledgeable Cougar enthusiasts scattered across North America from New Jersey to North Carolina and from British Columbia to Las Vegas. Each of the volunteer staff members brought their own area of expertise and a unique perspective to TCCN, resulting in a broad and comprehensive base of classic Cougar information.

Serving as the ultimate network of classic Cougar enthusiasts, TCCN united Cougar folks from all over the world, and they, too, added to the web site's knowledge base. Subscribers contributed articles from as far away as England, Brazil and Australia, as well as from every corner of North America.

Sadly, as TCCN approached its fifth anniversary, it became apparent that shortages of money and time would not allow us to continue publishing the web site. As a result, The Classic Cougar Network changed from a monthly publication to an archive in January of 2003.

Now, the TCCN archive has become TCCN II. During an eight month "restoration," we redesigned the site's layout to make finding information easier, we removed outdated information and added several new articles and features to fill gaps in The Network's original knowledge base. All told, TCCN II now contains nearly 500 (495) pages of information and thousands of photos, charts and other illustrations. Enjoy!

HISTORICAL ARTIFACT!

See that patch of vinyl-looking material on the left? That image served as the background pattern on the front page of the first edition of TCP. It has appeared in some form in every edition of TCCN since then, now including TCCN II.
